Focus, Focus, Focus

Do you know people who aren't focused on anything? In other words, when they need to concentrate on one thing, they drift off and begin procrastinating. Whenever you deal with someone who isn't focused, you're dealing with someone who isn't capable of being fully attentive. Can we be honest and say that we get annoyed at people who don't show us attention? Simply put - if you're investing your time and energy into something, you want someone to feel your cause and grab a hold of your passion. Dealing with focused people will give you the results you desire. On the other hand, dealing with those who aren't focused will leave you frustrated and aggravated. Why? Because you'll be doing all the work yourself and getting upset in the process. While many of us would get upset at those who don't have any focus, the question is, are we focused?

In this life, I've discovered that many people have what is called 'limited focus.' What I mean by this is that they'll remain focused on something for a while until it becomes too difficult, too compromising, or too much of a sacrifice. I want you to get into your spirit a person must be focused on what God has called them to do, if they ever expect to receive what He has for them. Crying tired is not an excuse. The words 'can't' and 'impossible' should be removed from your vocabulary. Staying focused is a mentality you must adopt for yourself. People can help you focus on things but you have to do it yourself. God provides, but He expects you to do your part.

In this spiritual journey, you need to know that God expects you to be focused on what He's called you to do. If you don't mind, I'd like to offer you a few suggestions on staying focused. First, pray and ask God for guidance. Never start anything without seeking Divine help. Second, write down what you want to accomplish and the steps you're going to take to accomplish them. Third, post your goals where you can see them. Buy a pack of post-its and write your goals on them. After you do that, stick them on your refrigerator, in the bathroom, on the doors in your home, and on books, just to name a few. Here's a hint - you need to see your goals everyday in order to keep yourself focused on what you're called to do. And fourth, keep a journal of what you're doing well and what needs to be improved on. Through journal writing, you're able to see your progress. Try it for 21 days and see what happens. A focused mind gets results. An unfocused mind gets confusion.
